Why do we recommend a comedy club?

Many people feel that humor is the greatest medicine since it offers a sense of release in this fast-paced society.

Instead of exacerbating negative behaviors, comedy and humor give people a secure approach to laugh in the face of difficulties.

Not only that, but science backs the use of humor as a mood booster because laughter reduces cortisol and allows for more room for joyful hormones to dominate your mind and body.

Naturally, the body’s heart and respiratory rates will drop throughout the comedy show, causing blood pressure to fall.

It’s also a fantastic coping method for anyone who is stressed out after a long day at work.

First on our list is The Comedy Store which started off in Pacific Beach in 1976.  This room only provided 180 seats with great acoustics along with a seafood restaurant.

By 1977, The Comedy Store La Jolla opened and has remained a hotspot for comedy in San Diego.  They have two stages where they host a variety of shows, and there is also a full bar and restaurant if you want to grab a bite before the show.

Today, the La Jolla Store puts on a professional show featuring LA Comedy Store professionals every weekend, as well as popular shows featuring local San Diego comic performers throughout the week.

For more than 30 years, this family business has hosted some of the biggest names in stand-up comedy, including Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, and Jim Carrey.
